TEXAS DISTRICT
PATHWAY TO LICENSING
Thank you for your interest in receiving ministerial credentials with the Texas District United Pentecostal Church. We are excited to partner with you in ministry.
To receive credentials with the UPCI, you must first understand the 3 levels of licensing.
-
Local License – This level of license is for those involved in ministry within the local church and under the authority of the local pastor. The local pastor must give approval to begin the application process.
-
General License – This level of license is for those involved in full-time ministry such as pastoring and evangelism.
-
Ordination – Ordination is the final level of licensing within the UPCI and is for those in full-time ministry and leadership within the organization. It is the fulfillment of the scriptural process of recognition, endorsement, and anointing.

Pastoral Approval
Before seeking credentials with the UPCI, you must talk to your pastor about your desire to further your ministry. Your pastor must approve you to pursue the application process.
Education Requirements
All applicants are required to complete the online training provided on Ministry Central. Each level of licensing has a specific block of courses designed to further your knowledge and practice of ministry. You can access Ministry Central by clicking here and creating an account.
Application
Once you have completed the required courses, you must submit an online application to be considered for ministerial license. All new applicants must have their pastor initiate an application utilizing the UPCI ministers portal at www.upciministers.com. Ministers currently licensed with the UPCI who wish to upgrade to the next level of licensing can apply by using the UPCI ministers portal.
Final Procedures
Once you complete the application by uploading the requested documentation and submitting the application fees, your pastor must approve the application. Upon receiving pastoral approval, the District Secretary will be notified, and you will receive written notification concerning a few necessary details prior to meeting the District Board. Applicants must be approved by the District Board in order to receive ministerial license. Completing the Ministry Central courses, applying, and/or paying the application fee does not imply that you will receive a ministerial license with the United Pentecostal Church International.
